The Orfeo Music Festival
Founded in 2003, the Orfeo Music Festival has brought distinguished international artists and emerging musicians together in Italy for more than two decades.
Over the years, Orfeo has welcomed acclaimed performers and teachers connected with leading conservatories, major orchestras, and renowned opera institutions, including artists with Bolshoi and Mariinsky traditions and faculty from prominent U.S. and European music institutions.
At Orfeo, rehearsals, masterclasses, performances, and concerts unfold within one shared Festival environment, bringing artists and participants into close musical exchange.
You do not simply attend Orfeo. You become part of it.
The Summer Academy
Orfeo’s Summer Academy offers focused musical study within the Festival, with masterclasses, coaching, ensemble work, performance opportunities, and individual instruction where applicable.
Instrumentalists and singers are welcome.
College & Emerging Artists
Concentrated artistic work, performance, and the opportunity to work alongside accomplished artists and musicians from different institutions and backgrounds.
Amateur Musicians
A welcoming environment for musicians who value study, ensemble playing, and performance. Ensemble opportunities are arranged according to instrumentation, level, and repertoire.
Pre-College Musicians
Focused study, masterclasses, performance, and the experience of working within a wider musical community.

Depending on the program, participation may include individual instruction where applicable, masterclasses, chamber music and ensemble work, rehearsals, performance opportunities, Festival concerts, opera scenes where offered, and choir.

Concert halls, churches, streets, cafés, mountains, lakes, and the rhythm of summer become part of the Festival without replacing what brought everyone there in the first place: the music.

Riva del Garda
July 3–8
Orfeo opens on Lake Garda, where music meets the extraordinary landscape and cultural life of Trentino.
Bressanone
July 8–13
The Festival continues in historic Bressanone, where Alpine landscape, old-world streets, concert venues, artists, and musicians come together around the music.

Orfeo International Music Competition
Festival participants may apply for the Orfeo International Music Competition by indicating their interest on the Festival application and submitting the required recording.
The Competition recognizes distinguished artistic achievement among Festival participants.
The Cohen Family First Prize, the Competition’s highest award, is made possible through the generosity of the Cohen family in support of exceptional young musicians and their continued artistic development.
