Over twenty years ago, Orfeo began as a summer in Italy. It has grown, since, into something that lasts all year.

The Online Academy is part of a larger Orfeo experience. Academy students may receive priority or expedited consideration and preparation for Orfeo’s summer programs, and selected students may continue their studies and performance experience in Italy.

No. The Online Academy is open to new students as well as musicians who have previously participated in Orfeo. Placement is based on the program, level, goals, and available faculty.

Private lessons are held online and scheduled directly between the student and assigned faculty member. Academy programming throughout the year includes performance studios, seminars, artist masterclasses, recitals, and special events. Young Musicians meets in small online groups.

Yes. Students in good standing for at least six months have their Festival application fee waived and receive a faculty evaluation in their file, creating a direct step toward Orfeo’s summer programs in Italy. Academy students may also receive priority or expedited consideration and preparation, and selected students may continue their studies and performance experience in Italy.

Orfeo Academy instruction is provided by conservatory, university, and festival faculty. Students are matched with an instructor according to instrument, level, goals, scheduling, and faculty availability, once you're accepted.

Yes. Each winter, seasonal Winter Salons in select U.S. locations bring members of the Orfeo community together for performance, conversation, and music. Each summer, selected students may continue that experience through the Orfeo Summer Academy and Music Festival in Italy.
