Yes. Performance is central to the Orfeo experience. Depending on program and placement, participants may perform in solo, chamber, studio, student, and special Festival concerts.

Yes. Chamber music is one of Orfeo’s core experiences. Participants may be placed in ensembles according to instrumentation, level, repertoire, and availability. Pre-formed groups are also welcome.

Orfeo faculty are distinguished performers and experienced teachers from leading universities, conservatories, and private studios. The Festival emphasizes close faculty contact, individualized guidance, and meaningful mentorship.

Some programs require a recent recording so faculty can evaluate level and placement. When required, applicants generally submit two contrasting selections totaling about 10 minutes.

Yes. Orfeo includes opportunities for younger musicians as well as advanced students and adults. Younger participants may need to attend with a parent or guardian depending on age and program.

Yes. Orfeo welcomes adult musicians who want high-level coaching, chamber music, performance opportunities, and the experience of making music in Italy within an international community.

Yes. Family members and friends are welcome to visit the Festival and may purchase tickets for concerts. Those who wish to join Orfeo’s guest program, including arranged accommodations, meals, or selected activities, must register separately as guests. Participants stay in accommodations arranged for the Festival, close to program activities whenever possible. Housing details vary by program and location and are provided during enrollment.

Yes. Orfeo offers a limited number of merit scholarships and need-informed financial awards. Scholarship funds are limited and awarded on a first-come basis as applications are reviewed, so applicants seeking assistance are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible and submit all requested financial-aid materials.

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis while space remains available. Apply by December 1 for Early Application pricing. Scholarship materials must be submitted by February 1.

Yes. Applications are completed online through the Orfeo website.

Limited rental options are available for instruments such as cello or viola. Participants who need an instrument should contact Orfeo well in advance so availability can be checked.

Participants should bring required music and scores, concert attire, comfortable clothing and walking shoes, personal medications, and normal travel essentials. Additional program-specific instructions are sent before travel.
