Bressanone is a poetic city nestled in the Eisack valley, where the Alps meet gentle vineyards, and the Eisack and Rienz rivers converge. Its medieval and Baroque architecture creates a "little Salzburg" atmosphere, with a rich history as a former episcopal principality. The city evokes a feeling of old-world charm with its arcaded streets, and the surrounding natural beauty provides a stunning backdrop of panoramic peaks.

A tale of two rivers: Bressanone is a city embraced by the confluence of the Eisack and Rienz rivers, a narrative of water and stone that flows through its heart.

  • A living tapestry of history: The arcaded streets are reminiscent of a time when medieval artisans and merchants plied their trade under the covered walkways, with the Dolomite peaks standing as silent witnesses to centuries of history.

  • A city of elegant contrasts: As a former episcopal capital, Bressanone seamlessly blends the stately elegance of Baroque architecture with the rustic, ancient charm of its medieval core.

  • A mountain jewel: Set in a sun-drenched plain at the foot of imposing peaks, Bressanone is a jewel of the Alps, a place where the high mountains meet the gentle slopes of its surrounding vineyards.

  • A cultural crossroads: Bressanone is a cultural crossroads, a place where the sounds of German, Italian, and Ladin mingle with the whispers of a millennium of history echoed in its cloister frescoes and grand cathedral.

Such Italian gems as Venice, Cremona, Verona, Lake Garda, and Milan are reachable by train within a couple of hours by train.

What to Wear & Dining

ATTIRE

We encourage the wearing of formal dress to show respect to the performers. At the same time the opportunity to look gorgeous never goes out of style.

Today our audiences are thrilled to combine the joy of dressing up with an opportunity to be different for a few evenings. Our audiences enjoy dressing in formal or vintage styles as much as the most contemporary fashion.

Given the alpine mountain weather, we recommend to bring an additional warm layer.
