Scholarships

Orfeo Music Festival offers a limited number of merit scholarships and need-based financial awards. Awards are based primarily on artistic merit as demonstrated by the audition recording, with financial need considered when applicable.

Applicants requesting scholarship consideration must submit the request with their original festival application. Scholarship requests cannot be added after an application has been submitted.

A complete scholarship request must include:

  1. The required audition recording

  2. A statement explaining the amount of assistance requested and the applicant’s financial circumstances

  3. A summary of significant musical achievements

  4. A recent tax return or equivalent financial documentation, submitted securely through the application system

Scholarship amounts vary according to artistic merit, demonstrated financial need, the number of qualified applicants, and available festival funds. Orfeo Music Festival cannot guarantee a particular award amount in advance. Applicants receiving scholarship assistance remain eligible for Early Bird tuition when all Early Bird application and payment deadlines are met.

Applicants are encouraged to explore additional support through schools, arts organizations, foundations, civic and religious organizations, and other community sources.

Orfeo Music Festival is operated by a tax-exempt nonprofit organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations to the Festival’s general scholarship fund may be eligible for charitable contribution acknowledgment. Donors should consult their tax adviser regarding deductibility.

"This has been a wonderful experience for me.  It feels possible to fit a year’s worth of learning, performing, and listening into only a couple of weeks (impossible at home, where other responsibilities get in the way) and the exchange of ideas, inspiration, and new friendships are as good as the music!  Thank you."
