Arkhip Sherstennikov, cello

A recipient of a Special Prize at the X. International Tchaikovsky Competition for young musicians, Arkhip Sherstennikov is a prize winner of several international competitions including Internationaler Knushewitski Cello competition Saratov 2018, and International Prokofiev Competition. From 2022 Arkhip Sherstennikov together with his piano partner Vladimir Skomorokhov is a member of the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Foundation in Hamburg and a scholarship holder of the Possehl Stiftung Foundation.

Arkhip performed at several international festivals and academies including Kronberg Festival 2022, Mozarteum summer academy 2019 in Salzburg, Schleswig-Holstein Music festival 2021, Brahms Festival in Lübeck 2022, Allegro Vivo Music festival 2019 in Horn, Beethoven-Marathon 2020 in Moscow.

Born in 2000 in Moscow, he received his first cello lessons at the age of six. He later studied at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory with Prof. Kirill Rodin. From 2021 he is studying with Prof. Troels Svane at the Musikhochschule in Lübeck.

Arkhip participated in the masterclasses of Prof. David Geringas, Jens PeterMaintz, Frans Helmerson, Wenn-Sinn Yang und Mischa Maisky. As a string quartet member, he is studying with Prof. Heime Müller and has participated in chamber music masterclasses with Johanna Staemler, Dirk Mommertz, Silke Avenhaus and Oliver Wille. Arkhip is playing an instrument made by Gabriele Jebran Yakoub.
